Counterfeit Kit Challenge November 2021

When I saw the mood board for November's kit I thought it reminded me of September's kit.  In September I was traveling I didn't play along.  I thought I might combine the two kits when I saw the kit itself.  The colors as you can see below are very similar.  November on top September on the bottom.

These two kits reminded me of Autumn.  I thought I would play of the plaids - Blue, red, brown & goldenrod.  As I was going through my stash I realized I don't have any plaids.  The ginghams I have are the wrong colors - more pastel for Easter.  This months kit I played with colors of Autumn and came up with the following:

My color scheme will be : Navy Blue, Blue, Apple Red, Rust, Pumpkin, Goldenrod, Blush & Purple.  I will continue to work on my light project.  I chose to ignore embellishments & used ones that fit my style and add what I will use.   This month I will be doing September 2018 - Autumn & October 2018 - Decorate.  A total of 10 layouts with a very Autumn Theme.  A lot of my base pages will be stripes in Appropriate colors since I don't have plaids.  THe Owl Burlap trim will be used on every layout.

Counterfeit Kit November part 1

The kit this month had two parts.  The first 4 layouts are complete.  These are for my September 2018 Light project.  September’s theme was Autumn.  To use the burlap owl trim I actually cut out the owls and included just owls on each layout.  I used a bright red alphabet across the pages to help tie them all together.

The sub categories were Community, Colors & Harvest.  I love when the trees turn color.  In my neighborhood there weren’t any of the vibrant reds.  I did find some Autumn blooms that included all the colors of fall.

The community decorations come from an area of town that is decorated for University Halloween celebration.  This particular week they were beginning with scarecrows and and hay bales.  Pictures were taken over multiple days early in the morning.

Harvest was going to be hard.  In my area harvest is done by September and I didn’t want pictures of pumpkins sitting around.  I happened to look out the store window one morning while I was trying to get ready for the day and saw a flock of birds harvesting seeds for the winter.  I thought they were perfect since it is something I see quite often first thing in the morning

Craft IQ November 2021

It has been awhile since I posted a Craft IQ Challenge.  The only month I haven’t done since June was October but I have been busy and didn’t get them posted.  This month’s challenge helped to figure out how to complete this this layout.  I really want to get this Album done this month. (Almost there 9 layouts left)

Below is all I had decided upon for this layout.  These item fit beautifully for day 1.
Day 1:  half & half 2 sheets patterned papers and more than one photo

Day 2: Silver (I ha silver brother & sister words that would work on this layout)
Day 3: word  Thankful must appear on layout (not a problem thankful for siblings may stamp)
Day 4: stitching (either real or faux)
Day 5:  Gold

At this point I had been trying to figure out if I should change layouts. Silver & gold make me think of Christmas.  As I looked through pictures I couldn’t come up with any others that may work.  To make my prompts work I changed my title from Birds Flock Together…. Family to Thankful for Sisters & Brothers.  I decided Thankful would be silver & gold alternating colored.  I thought I could do a gold swatch of ink to put silver words on top of.

Day 6: Washi tape or branding strip ( part of the original papers were a scrap with a decorated branding strip that had planned on using)
Day 7:  a feather

The feather threw me for a moment.  I figured I would cheat keep the birds on since they have feathers and call it good.  I was going through embellishments and discovered some feathers I could use that if I colored with gold ink could be my swatches behind my silver words.  Since I follow the rule of don’t glue down until last day this was doable.

My final layout
