Counterfeit Kit Challenge July 2021 Part 2

Thank you for the comments thus far on the creation of this kit & layouts.  Hopefully in future months things will go more smoothly and I will post in a timely fashion sooner in the Month.

After finishing the initial 4 layouts I had 1 - 12 x 12 paper left, 1 - 81/2 x 11 paper and some scraps.  I went thru pictures I have printed.  I have multiple projects in progress at this time.  I usually do 8/1/2 x 11 layouts so I I started with the 8/12 x 11 sheet.

I discovered a sunrise & A sunset series of photos from 20220. I started with a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper from my stash that went well with the left over stripe scrap to add interest to the page.  I did pull out a different alphabet from my stash but the colors are very close to the original kit..  I did use the sticker sheet from the counterfeit kit  that did not get used initially because it complimented the background sheet..

At this point I still had 2 sheets.  I started by trimming the left over piece that I had cut the sun out of thinking it would make a great embellishment but only wanted the sun.  I cut the stripe down to 8 1/2 x 11 for the left.  For the Right side I took the 8/1/2 x 11 sheet of yellow and added the scrap of stripe to the right side.  I cut tthe stripes on the horizontal to give an impression of colorful sunset.  I did pull a different alphabet for this layout as well.  This one is a sunset so the sun cut file I put near the bottom and journaled around the shape.

I do keep my scraps.    This is what was left from the initial kit.  The blue strip will be used on an icicle page and will be enhanced with with the glitter ribbon, as soon as I get time to do it.  The rest I'm not sure yet but will be sorted by color for future layouts.  The stickers will be be put back into my stack as well as I don't have plans for them either at this time.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge July 2021

This is unique challenge.  Instead of encouraging us to buy more of what you don’t need; this challenge encourages you to use what you already have.  They choose a kit for you to copy for the month.  You can copy it anyway you want.  Here is the kit to be copied:

Contents

  • Two 12x12 Buenos Dias double sided papers
  • One 12x12 Buenos Dias transparency
  • Two 12x12 cut apart double sided papers
  • One 4x6 stamp set
  • One set of Buenos Dias epoxy stickers
  • One set of die cuts

This kit as portrayed here didn’t inspire me at all.  I wasn’t even tempted to make a copy.  I went in and explored it a little more and found something that inspired.

This paper reminded me of a sunrise.  I am working on a 2018 project where each month had a theme then sub themes. This project needs to be completed so I decided to use the Counterfeit Kit Challenge to help me.   After looking at pictures the above  paper was perfect for March 2018 - Light.  There are 4 sections in March, Sunrise, Light, Sparkle & Shine.

The example kit was small so I put together a small kit.

The first picture is the sunrise done on a paper similar to the inspiration page.  The colors are more muted but still have wavy stripes of color.  The second picture is the intro to the month of March  To help the sparkle page sparkle I used, glitter ribbon, glitter glue & embossing powder.  I was afraid the  pictures on the shine page would blend into the background and be lost but the black helps the light to shine.  The shine page is enhanced with embossed stamping in each circle of the border.

As small as the kit was I still had leftovers.  I had a full sheet untouched,  a sheet I could cut down to an 8 1/2 x 11. and one scrap.  Now to find pictures to go with the rest of the kit.  This month I had to wait for pictures to arrive so the posting is way late.  In the future hopefully will have done sooner..  Will try to remember to post how I finish the rest of the kit.

As a new Close To My Heart Maker I have decided to showcase some scrapbooking layouts.  I am a 81/2 x 11 scrapper.  Almost all my papers ge...
