Sorry September didn’t happen I was traveling and when I finally got home didn’t Make a kit. II stead did Scraptember and got half the prompts and some sketches completed. For October I will be focusing on my next segment of Light photos I have decided to use May - Vibrant.
From the Mood Board I found inspiration in yellow/ orange ombré and thought I would use a yellow/orange star paper to represent the ombré and the star paper. When I actually saw the kit I decided this paper was too dark so went another route. The purple butterfly from the Mood Board also spoke to me. The blues. were light enough to compliment the deep purple and the ombré.
When I saw the kit I wasn't overall impressed. THe papers weren't my style. The butterfly paper had lovely colors but I couldn't see it all that well to pick out a color scheme. As I scrolled through the kit information I came across the color base swages
These swages reminded me of a Spring plaid that I had in my stash. The colors were very similar and would look good with the dark purple. I found papers in vibrant color schemes that went with the plaid as well as these swatches. I have 6 layouts for vibrant tat will stick with the plaid and butterfly theme. I have pulled papers for another 8 layouts that are random but go with the colors.
I liked that the orginal kit had a stencil. I hope to pull in a large butterfly stencil to help accent the pages. I have pulled several other stencils that would work with several pages. Stickers & Alphas I will pick as I do each page and as needed. Most of my embellishments for the first half will be stamped butterflies cut out & colored. THe other pages I haven"t thought about in great detail yet..
