Counterfeit Kit Challenge March 2022 - Completion

 Here is my kit finished:

Challenge 1 - Everyday life - baby gifts & cards games

Challenge #2 - something that makes me happy.  I was out early one morning and caught the moon smiling

Using the pink & blue ABC's paper I documented national scrapbook day  the back ground is white..  Ephemera is from journal of Life.

Death Day party - I cut ghosts out of scrap paper.  Used Journal for Life Halloween stickers.  Used the cricket to cut out wrapped candy & cup.

This one was inspired from one of Christie Beautiful Life series 9 sketches.  There were a couple of similar ones that I flipped.  For the tree I ran a couple of colors of brown ink pads down the paper.after drawing a tree shape.  The large squirrel was cut out on the circuit. Acorns were stenciled.

Double page layout - first Daffodils & tulips on a striped background.  Ephemera was jouranal for life florals. The yellow & pink florals was an Allene's stamp colored with alcohol markers & cut out.  The dragonfly is an iron on that was put on before pictures.

Looking forward to creating April's kit.  April will be a busy month but hopefully I can get in some creating.

Craft IQ - March 2022

It has been awhile since I posted my thought process and layout for Craft IQ.  Craft Iq takes place on the first 7 days of each month.  Each day you get one part of the recipe. In 2022 there is a slight twist - there is a bonus part of the recipe in JQCrafty's live video on the 7th.

Day 1 - use the day 20 sketch from 30 day of sketches - I have 3 photos of first Robin ofSpring 2021 and an ideas that could work with this sketch

Day 2 -Flower Smacking - this came up last month and I did pieced florals.  This month still not sure what it is in scrapbooking so will use scraps and stencils to make florals.  In sewing it is layered florals with dimension be it embroidery, painted or ribbon.  After some looking I also decided the two smaller pictures could be cut into tulip shapes.

Day 3 - something orange - some of the floral scraps I chose have orange in them so I will use them for florals

Day 4 - 7 of one embellishment - on this one I am going to cheat.  The snowflake banner that will go across the bottom of my page has 7 tiny snowflakes on it.

Day 5 -colored cardstock- border strip across top

Day 6 - something metal or metallic finished - metallic brad for eye on robin

Day 7 - triangle - going to cheat on this one too.  The banners create triangles at the ends where they meet the edge of the paper.

Counterfeit Kit March 2022 - 1st week layouts

It has been a good week for scrapbooking I was able to get started on my kit and get some things completed.

This first layout was done for Christy's 30 days of sketches group 9 Day 1.  I expanded the sketch to a 2 page layout and used die cuts instead of tags down the left side. The reason I originally took these pictures ended up not being used so I will use it on another layout.

A 4 page layout inspired by the brightness of this kit.  The yellows reminded me sun reflecting off of ripe pears.  The pink & greens helped me to choose green & pink circle papers.  These pages coordinate as I used the same papers across the 4 pages.  I did some stamping in sweet leaf, chocolate, tulip & yellow.  The jar rings were painted with gold & silver.  I used rub- one on the two banners.

This a one page layout with a hinged page attached.  On the front of the hinged page the pond was created with re- inkers, lagoon, sapphire & dark green & a grayer, and the ducks & cattails were cut out of scraps.  The purple & green grass is a washi tape.  On the main page the duck cattail paper was a large scrap that was almost big enough for a full sheet so I glued to a piece of plain cardstock.  The Dragonflies were cut out of scraps.

The left side of this was also done for Christy's 30 day of sketches group 9.  I think it was day 2; the sketch had 6 photos and I used the pink gingham to represent one column of pictures.  I used 2 pictures instead of 3 in the other column.  It doesn't show up well on camera, but the red enhances heat embossed roses & dance words.  The red is chalk that has been haisprayed to prevent it from rubbing off.

Counterfeit Kit March 2022

We have entered another month.  As I thought of what might be a part of the new kit I went through my 2021 album looking pictures and ideas placed in the sheet protectors.  There were 22 layouts waiting to be finished - put together, titles, pictures attached & stitched.  I hoped I would be able to turn them into March kit.

On February 28th the following mood board was posted as a teaser:

From the mood board I figured most of the layouts I had chosen would fit into the kit.  I liked the blues & pinks. I liked the multi color hearts that gave me a rainbow choices of color.  The daises reminded me I had some florals that needed scrapbooked.  The kit wasn't I had hoped for but gave plenty of things to work with.

On the first the kit was revealed.  Honestly I was disappointed.  The kit was too bright and hurt my eyes
It was full of  yellows, oranges and blues that clashed.  There were a few pops of colors that didn't hurt my eyes.  I didn't know what I was going to do at first then I looked at the papers with the mood board in mind.
.

The papers I found a way to use my stash without hurting my eyes.  The orange yellow stripe I had something similar that was more muted.  I pulled a Spring paper pad, that was ancient, that had a similar color scheme - pink, blue, green & blue.  I was able to pull paper for almost half of the pictures & layouts I had pulled.  By going through loose paper I was able to find the rest of the papers I needed.  Embellishments for the most part had already been pulled & placed with pictures.  A couple of layouts that had not been initially pulled were added while others put away for another day.  When all was said & done  I had 20 projects kitted up.  We will see how many I get done.

I hope to use a lot of scraps this month.  I have a list of items that I need to remember I have use, many of those items are going to be used this month.  I will get a lot accomplished using my stash this month.  Something's will get pulled from stash as needed but above is the base kit.

As a new Close To My Heart Maker I have decided to showcase some scrapbooking layouts.  I am a 81/2 x 11 scrapper.  Almost all my papers ge...
