Silver and Gold

In the scrap book world it is talked a lot about not mixing metals.  In the Middle Ages silver and gold weren’t mixed because from a distance they read as the same color.  As I made this tag the words Silver & Gold, Silver & Gold and Silver & Gold ran through my mind.

This time of year those lyrics will take most people to the story of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and the lyrics song by Burl Ives:

Silver and gold Silver and gold Silver and gold Ev'ryone wishes For silver and gold
How do you measure It's worth? Just by the pleasure it Gives here on Earth Silver and gold Silver and gold Mean so much more When I see Silver And gold decorations On ev'ry Christmas tree Silver, silver and gold Silver, silver and gold Silver and goldSilver and gold Silver and gold  Wise men brought gifts To the mange I'm told Mary was humble to see Shepherds and kings There on bended knees It's silver and gold Silver and gold Feeling the world With their lives Silver and gold How they  shimmer On ev'ry Christmas night On ev'ry Christmas night
I personally prefer the lyrics by Kirk Franklin & the Family:

Silver and gold, silver and gold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold No fame or fortune, nor riches untold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold Don't give me a mansion on top of the hill Don't give me the world with a shallow thrill But just give me a Savior, my life He can hold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold
Woke up this morning, feeling kind of down I called on my best friend, she could not be found But I called on Jesus, my life He can hold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold... I called on my best friend, she could not be found But I called on Jesus, my life He can hold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold... But I called on Jesus, my life He can hold I'd rather have Jesus than silver and gold...I can call on Jesus, hey And I know He'll answer, I know He'll answer He's the only One that can save your soul
Jesus's only request Come Follow Me.  May you find the true meaning of the season and may you feel of His peace.
